Karen is a queer, mixed-race Chicago based Lighting Designer. She values collaboration and ingenuity in theatre arts. Karen is passionate about accessibility in the both the work onstage and backstage.
Karen has worked throughout Chicago. Recent credits include Lighting Design for The Delicate Tears of the Waning Moon with Water People Theatre, Associate Lighting Design for Go, Dog. Go! / Ve, Perro. ¡Ve! at Chicago Children's Theatre, and Assistant Lighting Supervisor for the 2025 season at Lookingglass Theatre Company.
Beyond theatre, Karen values time spent outdoors with her family and friends. They enjoy creating and sharing art rooted in interpersonal connection and powerful emotions on both a small and large scale.
